Adam Shead is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Chicago, IL whose practice spans the realms of improvised music, music composition, painting, photography, and poetry. Throughout Shead’s practice he attempts to create work that develops a sense of spacial presence in which the codification of human experience is dismantled and the prevailing homogenization of culture takes a back seat to personal truth, encouraging the invention of new and personal ways of expressing and knowing oneself. Through this exploration of truth Shead hopes to develop work that allows a moment of reprieve while simultaneously challenging himself and his audience through active participation in invention, acceptance, compassion, trust, and grace.
